Any additional work outside the agreed scope will be discussed and agreed in writing before proceeding and may incur additional fees.
6. Fees & Payment
Fees will be clearly outlined in your proposal or appointment letter.
They may be fixed, percentage‑based, or hourly, depending on the nature of the project.
Invoices are payable within the timeframe stated on the invoice.
7. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for:
• Providing accurate information
• Securing necessary approvals or permissions not included in the agreed scope
• Ensuring access to the property when required
• Making timely decisions to support project progress
8. Intellectual Property
All drawings, concepts, designs, and written materials remain the intellectual property of X by X Design Studio unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Clients receive a licence to use the design for the specific project it was created for.
Designs, drawings, or documents may not be reused, adapted, or shared with third parties for other projects without written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
I provide services with care, skill, and professionalism.
However, I am not liable for:
• Delays caused by third parties
• Contractor performance or workmanship
• Planning authority decisions
• Losses arising from information provided by the client
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
I am not responsible for delays or issues arising from events outside my reasonable control (force majeure), such as extreme weather, illness, or supply chain disruptions.
10. Third‑Party Consultants & Contractors
Where a project requires additional consultants (e.g., structural engineers, surveyors), they will be appointed directly by the client unless otherwise agreed.
I may recommend trusted collaborators, but I am not responsible for their work.
11. Termination
Either party may end the appointment in writing.
Fees for work completed up to the termination date will still be payable.
12. Privacy & Data Protection
Your personal information is handled in line with the Privacy Policy and in accordance with UK GDPR and ARB/RIBA expectations around confidentiality and responsible data handling.
13. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
